Previous Installations

Theremin Bollards were thrilled to be invited to the esteemed Yorkshire Sculpture park for a 3 day exhibition in August 2014. With the Theremin Bollard project originating in Yorkshire this installation was one of our favourites so far.   This exhibition included a performance day, interactive day and meet the artist day. Below are some images from the 3 days.

We would like to thank. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, York St John University, performers  Vanessa Simmons, Chilli Bon Bon, Dub Barn Collective, Chris Klavense,.and special thanks to Paul Fothergill. kayleigh Miles Hugo Glenwright and Nicky Young for helping.

Installing Theremin Bollards under dippy the dinosaur was a special moment. The sound in the main hall was amazing, we had hundreds of people enjoy the Theremin Bollards throughout the 2 days . A huge thanks to Rob Toulson for asking us to be involved and for his ongoing support for our project.

Below are a selection of images from the 2 day event.

Lausanne, Switzerland Jan2016 A new player in the Swiss cultural landscape (on the French-speaking side), the N/O/D/E is dedicated to sound oddities, focusing on unusual instruments, forgotten sounds, bizarre music and the correlation between past and present.

The Theremin is its emblem. It proposes occasional open-minded and playful events in the French-speaking part of Switzerland to discover, listen to or reflect upon the musical wealth of various microcosms, far away from the beaten path.

Hands Off 2015

Is an event with and around Theremins held on September 26th, 2015 from 10:00AM to 07:00PM in Poulton Hall, Wirral, UK. Theremin, named after its inventor Leon Theremin, a Russian physicist, inventor, and musician, was created in 1919 as one of the very first electronic music instruments. The use of electromagnetic fields around two antennas allows to play it without actually touching it.

Theremin Bollards presents @ Musicport Festival  Whitby, UK 2014. A two day installation and interactive performance, including York dub reggae band Dub Barn Collective.

Based on our performative event at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, we allowed the audience to become lead player in the performance. From the reaction of the audience it was another fantastic event! By both, band and audience. Check out members of the audience performing with a Dub Barn Collective.

We installed in the amazing Glasgow centre for this one day event to celebrate music in the UK. The event was televised and broadcast on BBC1 the One Show. BBC Scotland
